The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), a Christian humanitarian agency, has started registration of primary school teachers who are to be beneficiaries of 40 USD incentives in Tonj state.
The exercise which began last week targets 1,500 primary school teachers across the state.
However, Tonj State Development Partners’ Coordinator, Santino Magok, says the incentives should also be given to secondary schools and Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) teachers to motivate them.
Magok told Radio Tamazuj that all teachers are suffering and therefore they all need to be given incentives that will boost their morale and improve their teaching spirit.
“We are actually engaging now with national ministry to address this issue of left out number of teachers who are teaching in secondary education and ALP,” Magok added.
Magok appealed to teachers who are not in active practice to allow their colleagues to register so that realistic data is collected.
