Prices shoot up in Blue Nile capital

Citizens in Damazin town in Sudan’s Blue Nile state said that prices of consumer goods are rising at the market.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several local residents complained about soaring prices of bread in various residential areas, besides other consumer goods.

They also reported that prices of onions have dramatically risen to 900 SDG whereas the prices of beans and vegetables also skyrocketed. Traders attributed the problem to failing cultivation in this year’s season.
