Traders in Sudan’s Blue Nile state said that prices of consumer goods are rising at Damazin market.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Tuesday, several traders complained about heavy taxes imposed on them by local authorities as well as deteriorating security situation on the outskirts of the capital Damazin.
A sack of onion rose in price to 600 SDG and a sack of sorghum increased from 130 SDG to 140 SDG, one trader said.
He added that prices of other essential commodities have dramatically increased including soap. The traders also pointed to an increase of transport tariff in the area these days.
