The commissioner of Twic East County in South Sudan’s Jonglei State has complained that prices of fuel and other consumer goods are soaring.
Commissioner Dau Akoi Jurkuch told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the county is witnessing increasing prices of commodities at the market due to poor road conditions.
He said a barrel of fuel costs 6000 SSP and there are few goods including onions.
He pointed out that the government cannot repair roads between counties due to lack of budget. Dau blamed the current economic crisis on the ongoing civil war in South Sudan.
