Prices of goods in Abyei unbearably high

Prices of everday goods in Abyei are sharply increasing due to the blockade at the border between Sudan and South Sudan.

Speaking from Annette, the head of the chamber of commerce in Abyei, Kol Deng told Radio Tamazuj that prices of goods are unbearably high.

He said a single onion has reached three Sudanese pounds, a sack of sugar is 500 SDG, flour is 500 SDG and a litre of cooking has reached 210 SDG.
