Prices of consumer goods sold at the Bahr el Arab market in Sudan’s East Darfur state have dropped significantly.

Several local residents in Abu Matariq area told Radio Tamazuj that prices decreased because there is better security along the roads connecting the area with West Kordofan and Ad Daein town.

They said commercial convoys were previously intercepted by bandits. Meanwhile, several farmers described this year’s agricultural season as successful in Bahr el Arab area.
