Prices drop at Northern Bahr El Ghazal’s War Awar market as roads open again

Shop owners told Radio Tamazuj that the prices went down dramatically at the War Awar market, after the road connecting Meiram with Majong Nyimtiong was opened again. It had been cut off by heavy rains.

A trader confirmed the flow of essential commodities from Sudan to the market. 

A sack of rice dropped from SSP170 to SSP150 and a drum of edible oil from SSP200 to SSP175, whereas a bag of flour its const reduced from SSP300 to SSP220. A sack of sugar lowered from SSP300 to SSP270 and the sack of onions now costs SSP600 while it was SSP1,000 before the opening of the road, a source explained.
