Abu Zabad town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State is experiencing rising prices of consumer goods owing to poor harvest in the area this year.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, several citizens noted that prices of animal products have also shot up and crops.
“A small bushel of millet costs 15 SDG and sorghum is for 12 SDG, whereas a pound of cooking oil reached 12 SDG, and a small bushel of onions costs 25 SDG,” one of the locals said.
“A kilogram of beef costs 40 SDG, whereas a kilogram of lamb reached 60 SDG,” he added. The same sources complained about low salaries while commodities are skyrocking at the market.
