Authorities in the proposed Western Lakes state ordered fixed prices for goods on Monday amid protests by traders.
The local leaders issued the price-fixing directive on Friday.
Dak Malou, Chairperson of Chamber of Commerce, complained that the reduction of prices of goods will result in the scarcity of goods in the markets because traders have to buy imported at a high cost due to the exchange rate.
He said if traders cannot bring in food there will be hunger.
