Presidential Adviser, 2 Governors visit disputed Bahrgel area

He was accompanied by delegation from the two sides on Thursday last week to acquaint himself with the general situation and to speak to the local people.

 In a statement to the press, Awet called on the two communities of the area to stay as one community like before the creation of the twenty eight states in the country. He stressed that the creation of more states was not a division of the people, but it was meant to take the government close to the people in order to provide   service delivery to the local population.

Governors of the two states appealed to the people of disputed areas to remain calm as amicable solution will be provided soon.

They informed the communities that they should organize themselves to welcome the visiting fact findings committee from the Council of States in Juba which are expected to visit the states very soon. Last week, the Council of state formed a committee led by the Chief Whip, Faustino Atem Gualdit to visit the disputed areas.
