South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has issued a decree removing six members of transitional parliament from their legislative role and replaced them with new officials.
The officials affected by the order were lawmakers appointed to the national parliament through the ticket of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) loyal to the First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai.
The president Kiir, according to the order announced on Monday removed Thieji Aduad Deng, Stephen Mach Malual, Emmanuel Dumo Gem, Mohamed chom Ayen, Christopher Gawer Chiekchol and Abraham Majak Malith.
In another order, Kiir order replaced the removed parliamentarians with Micheal Woul Dau Kiir, Manyang Mayen Kuony, Alfred Taban, Ajok Dok Ajak, Angelina Nyapiiny Badiing and Dr. Achok Konyang Kuong.
