South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir on Wednesday met with chiefs and representatives of youth, women and politicians from Ruweng State.
Speaking reporters after the meeting, Ateny Wek Ateny, South Sudan’s presidential spokesman, said President Kiir’s meeting with leaders from Ruweng State discussed the current political situation in the state and how to implement the signed peace agreement in the country.
Ateny further said the people of Ruweng state were shock by the resignation of the former Governor Theji Da Adwad Deng from the SPLM-IO faction led by First Vice President Taban Deng Gai.
He revealed that the meeting stressed the importance of finding a peaceful solution to the current problem in the state, besides the importance of joint efforts to implement the signed peace agreement.
