President Kiir fires Youth Minister, makes changes in Warrap and N. Bahr el Ghazal

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Friday night fired the Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu and replaced him with Dr. Joseph Geng Akec.

In another decree, Kiir appointed Dr. Kurel Kuai Kurel Chairperson of the Council of Bureau of Standards, at the National Bureau of Standards,

The decree also revoked ministerial order number 5 of July 2013 that assigned Mary Gordon Murtat as Acting Executive Director of the Council of Bureau of Standard National Bureau of Standards. In yet another decree, the president relieved Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies Deng Lii Bak (SPLM-IO), Angelo Deng Wek, Deputy Chairperson Human Rights Commission (SPLM-IO), and Aweil East County Commissioner Majok Piol Mawien.

He then appointed Atak Garang Akec Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies (SPLM-IO, Kuac Kuac Kuac (SPLM-IO) to replace the late Kuol Lual Agau, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs, Santino Garang Awech, Deputy Chairperson Human Rights Commission (SPLM-IO) and Garang Peter Maduok as the new Aweil East County Commissioner (SPLM-IO).

In the Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Legislative Assembly, Kiir revoked the appointments of SPLM-IO members Nyang Atak Barjok Atak Garang Akec and Wek Cuei Lang. He also removed National Alliance members Alteib Dut Kuol, Alwat Mawien Makol, and Peter Yol.

The president appointed, SPLM-IO members Mawien Abuk Maithet, Deng Akon Yai, and Victor Wol Guot to the state parliament.  He appointed ANC’s Dut Dut Talang, Charles Akot Ayi, and Patrick Opio Dimo, National Alliance as state lawmakers.

In Warrap State, Kiir relieved Nyanyat Manywat Kwat (SPLM) as Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and replaced him with Alith Deng Cyerdit.

He revoked the appointment of Deng Makuac Kur, Deputy Speaker of the Warrap State Legislative Assembly, Magok Kon Nyol (SPLM), Madol Cuor Kuac, National Alliance, Cueibet Agei Dut, National Agenda, Ding Moter Majok, National Alliance and Lual Lual Mayen, from the Democratic Change, as parliamentarians in the state assembly.  

Kiir replaced them with, Mario Ajak Akuei (SPLM), Deputy Speaker, Ajang Madut Kon Awan, (SPLM), Mariano Lual Deng, National Alliance, Renato Akol Mathiang National Agenda, Johnson Malong Mawic, and Wing Angelo Cuei Akec Democratic Change as parliamentarians in the state assembly.

In Upper Nile State, President Kiir relieved Yasir Ujuk Ajak (USAP), Advisor on Gender and Social Welfare and Adam Nyiel Abied (SPM_IO), Minister of Gender and Social Welfare, and replaced them with Dr. Timon John Tipo William (USAP), Advisor of Gender and Social Welfare USAP and Yussif Mayik Ajang Tongbal (SPLM-IO), Minister of Gender and Social Welfare.
