South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir issued a presidential decree removing the County Commissioner of now defunct Pibor County Joshua Konyi.
The executive order went into effect from 12 August.
Konyi, who is a brigadier general, will be reinstated into the active list of the forces loyal to Kiir, announced South Sudan Television (SSTV) yesterday.
The leader of the newly established Greater Pibor Administrative Area David Yau Yau officially taken oath of office after being sworn in Tuesday before President Kiir and Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut in Juba yesterday.
Yau Yau was appointed chief administrator of Greater Pibor on 30 July as part of a peace accord with the South Sudan government following his armed rebellion in Pibor County.
