President Kiir appoints joint humanitarian aid access supervisory team

President Salva Kiir has issued an executive order forming a nine member joint committee tasked to oversee access and delivery of humanitarian aid to areas where assistances are needed.

President Salva Kiir has issued an executive order forming a nine member joint committee tasked to oversee access and delivery of humanitarian aid to areas where assistances are needed.

The team, according to the republican order, will be headed by the minister of cabinet affairs Martin Elia Lomuro with participation of a representatives from united nations mission South Sudan (UNMISS) and the united nations office for coordination of humanitarian affairs (UNOCHA).

The mission of the committee, according to the order broadcast by South Sudan broadcasting Corporation on Friday, is to remove all the illegal road blocks hindering movement and delivery of the humanitarian aids in various parts of the country.

Other members of the committee include, Hussien Maar Nyuot , Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Awut Deng Acuiel , Minister of Gender , child and social welfare, LTGEN Mangar Buong – SPLA deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, LTGEN Akol Koor – Director for Internal Security Bureau, LTGEN James Biel Ruot – Deputy Police IGP and Lokulenge Lole Timayo, Chairman of the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC)
