Preparations completed for 22nd AU summit in Addis Ababa

The African Union Commission has announced that the preparations for the 22nd AU summit on 30-31 of January in Addis Ababa have been completed.

The ministerial meeting of the Executive Council will take place on Monday and Tuesday to approve and refer projects, decisions and recommendations to the summit of the Heads of States and governments in its 22nd session.

The AU Commission Secretary General told reporters that the 22nd AU session will focus on food security and agriculture, besides a range of issues, including the election of a new president of the AU and three deputies.

The Khartoum-based Sudan Vision daily newspaper reported that the AU Member States Council will organise a conference on African solidarity on 1 February to discuss possible solutions to African problems with a focus on post-conflict situations.
