A pregnant woman was shot and killed in Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan state by a pro-government militia that returned from the frontlines recently.

Fighting between Sudan’s army and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North rebels is continuing on various fronts in the Nuba Mountains these days.

Several citizens told Radio Tamazuj that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) started shooting randomly within the town upon their return from military operations.

They pointed out that the shooting resulted in the killing of an expecting mother, adding that the incident caused fear among the local population.

The same sources noted that the killing of the pregnant woman by the government-backed militia caused grumbling in Kadugli, but residents couldn’t question the perpetrators because they were fighting for the government.
