The Renk Hospital in South Sudan’s Upper Nile state is suffering from power cuts, paralysing its work since last Thursday.

A doctor at the hospital, Tijani Jamil, told Radio Tamazuj that “We are facing big problems because of the black out. All our patients have left the hospital without permission from the doctors”.

Jamil appealed to the authorities concerned to “return the electrical power as soon as possible so that the patients can be treated properly”.
