Delivery of services to citizens in Kapeota East County of Eastern Equatoria State has been hampered by the poor condition of roads linking the county headquarters to the other parts of the state, a local official said.
Justin Juma, the County Executive Director, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the movement will likely be halted if nothing is done on the dilapidated bridges along Nadapal – Juba highway.
“The roads are very bad. The movement will stop if the road from Kapoeta to Narus is not repaired. The bridge on Loyoro River in Loyakhali is broken, and if not hurriedly repaired, it will affect citizens depending on things from Kenya through this road,” he said.
The local official further complained about shortages of drugs in the primary health care centers in the various parts of the county.
He said drugs provided by the government are not enough for citizens.
“The drugs provided by the state government are usually not enough. We have 15 to 16 primary health care centers, and the drugs are not enough for the population given the rise in malaria cases due to rains,” said Juma.
