The acting minister of information in South Sudan’s Lakes state Dhieu Wol said his state was experiencing acute shortages of commodities at the market to poor conditions of roads.

Wol told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that prices of the existing goods in the area have also been affected after heavy rainfall.

The official further said long-awaited SPLA forces have arrived recently in Rumbek town. He added that the forces will be deployed across Lakes state.

He also attributed the delay of the forces’ arrival to poor roads connecting the state to other states, while disclosing that about 12 suspected cattle raiders were arrested by community police in Rumbek East county .

“Yesterday I also heard that about 12 criminals were arrested in Rumbek East, I think some of them are cattle raiders and others are killers,” he said.
