Unknown gunmen shot and killed a policeman in Gbudue State capital, Yambio on Saturday, police said.  

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, the state police commissioner, James Mande Inoka said Mathew Juma was on his way home on a motorbike when he met his death in Yambio town.

He said such an incident had never occurred within Yambio town, adding that police authorities have intensified efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

Mande cautioned motorcyclists against night movements and appealed to all motorcycle owners to register for easy identification.
