As South Sudanese prepare to celebrate the Christmas and New Year, the ministry of interior warned against the dangers associated with firing a gun into the air.
”If you are caught shooting in the air, you will be held accountable. It is not allowed to shoot in the air during the Christmas and the New Year celebrations,” said Michael Chiangkiek, minister of interior during a press conference in Juba on Monday.
”If you are arrested for firing a weapon, you will be fully responsible and you will face the law,” he added.
The official also said the government has decided to ban vehicles with tinted windows, pointing out that drivers caught flouting the law will face arrested. “Numberless cars and motorcycles are also not allowed,” he said.
