The road connecting Yirol and Rumbek has reopened after two months being closed due to security fears, according to a police official.

Yirol West police director Colonel Joseph Mading Jok said the government enrolled young people into community policing to help secure the road.

"The way is already opened for everybody moving but remember the work of the security is not in the hands of the police alone, it’s everybody’s work in the community, we have enrolled the youths who were with the weapons and stood on the road into the community policing, they are happy and now the road between Rumbek and Yirol is reopened," he said.
