At least one police officer was shot dead and three others sustained injuries in a gunfire exchange between the National Security Service and the unified forces in Rubkonaa County of Unity State over the weekend.
Last month, a national security driver hit and injured a unified force soldier with vehicle at the Unity oilfield.
SSPDF Spokesperson Lul Ruai Koang confirmed to Radio Tamazuj on Monday the killing of the police officer, and the injuries to the other officers in the fight between the National Security Services and the unified forces.
He said the clash arose from a misunderstanding between the two groups following the road accident.
Koang said the commanders of both forces had been arrested for questioning.
