South Sudan police said they have identified who killed three siblings in the capital Juba last week, police said.

Tragedy struck the family of Edward Jami on August 1 when an unidentified person slaughtered three of their children at Rock City.

The murder of the three little girls from one family sparked a public outcry among South Sudanese.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj this afternoon, Police Spokesman Major General Daniel Justin said: “We have arrested the suspect in the killing of the three sisters. We have also found the tool used by the suspected in the killing.”

According to the police spokesperson, the prime suspect confessed to killing the three little girls at Rock City.

Daniel identified the prime suspect as a fourth-year medical student at the University of Juba.

“He is a 24-year-old student at the University of Juba. The suspect is a relative to the family of the murdered kids. So more investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be taken to court,” said Daniel.

The prime suspect was identified as Babu Emmanuel Lokiri.

The family of the murdered children could not immediately be reached to react to the speedy arrest of the suspect.
