The National Police Service has formed a five-member committee of people drawn from different institutions to investigate the burglary that occurred at Juba International Airport last weekend.
Police spokesperson Gen Daniel Justin said that it is a serious crime to attack the airport and confirmed that two suspects had been apprehended and are investigated.
“The committee is headed by a Brigadier from CID and we have people from customs and some other stakeholders. They are five in number,” Gen. Justin said. “We are still investigating and cannot reveal the detail to the media all.”
The director of the Juba International Airport, Kur Kuol, told Radio Tamazuj that two suspects who work for a company doing work within the airport have been arrested.
“Two suspects belonging to the company called African Airport Constructions which is the one running the terminal have been arrested,” Kuol said. “I think those people might be having some keys.”
He, however, said that the owners of the stolen items have not given details to the authorities.
