Police disperse opposition protests outside Justice Ministry in Khartoum

Sudanese police have dispersed protests organized by opposition leaders outside the National Ministry of Justice in Khartoum on Monday, an opposition official said.

The political secretary of the Sudanese Communist Party Mohamed Mukhtar Al-Khatib told Radio Tamazuj from Khartoum that police authorities dispersed peaceful protests by opposition leaders.

He pointed out that the opposition figures were going to present a petition in which they demand the Justice Minister stop violations against Darfuri university students.

Al-Khatib said they managed to hand over the petition to the minister through the opposition alliance's lawyers, saying the parties are now working to assess what has been done by the government to deny people's rights.
