A policeman has been shot and killed by a gunman in Juba while on duty at the home of a government official, according to Central Equatoria Police Commissioner Henry Danima.
Danima said the police officer shot dead an assailant but was fatally wounded in the process and died while en route to the hospital.
“The motive of the shooting of this bodyguard is not known because the assailant is dead and … the bodyguard replied before he died (but) of course now he is also dead,” the police official said on the UN radio service.
He said the case is being investigated but stressed they do not know the motive of the attacker.
