Sudanese security forces on Sunday raided a camp of hundreds of displaced South Sudanese people in the Durushab area of Khartoum North, a local chief said.
Andrea Kuol told Radio Tamazuj that the security force came with 55 vehicles and destroyed houses of displaced people. He said four people were arrested.
Kuol said dozens of families are sleeping on the ground as a result of that raid.
He said the attack came after the police asked the camp manager to hand over five people accused of fighting with the police last week. Kuol said they had handed over two of them.
The chief called on the South Sudanese embassy in Khartoum and NGOs to immediately intervene to help the displaced who are suffering from hunger and cold.
