Police in Jonglei State arrested 24 gang members during a crackdown in Bor town on Sunday.
The crackdown came after the group terrorized parts of the town for hours, leaving at least four people critically injured in the incident.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the state police commissioner, Major Gen. Joseph Mayen Akoon confirmed the arrest of the 24 suspects allegedly involved in the fighting on Sunday.
He added that the suspects are in detention pending investigations. “We arrested 24 of them. They were involved in the fighting. As soon as those people recover, they will tell us who hurt them. After our investigations, they will be taken to court,” Mayen explained.
The police officer said the situation remains calm after the incident.
