Police arrest 10 curfew violators in Bor

About 10 people were arrested in Bor town of Jonglei for violating the night curfew on Tuesday, police said.

About 10 people were arrested in Bor town of Jonglei for violating the night curfew on Tuesday, police said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, the state police commissioner, Major General Joseph Mayen Akoon said they acted in compliance with the recently imposed nationwide night curfew.

He stressed that those arrested would be arraigned in court. “We arrested over 10 people and they are in court,” said Mayen.

The senior police officer urged residents of Bor to abide by the curfew as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.  

South Sudan, which has not yet registered any case of coronavirus, is stepping up efforts to prevent the spread of the deadly pandemic.
