The Commissioner of Pochalla South along with other officials were arrested last Wednesday and taken to an SPLA detention site in Juba, according to multiples sources in Juba and Pochalla.

The arrested officials are in Juba in SPLA MI detention and are undergoing investigation, according to the sources, who linked the arrests to recent fighting in Pochalla.

The number of detainees is at least seven, one source said, while other suspects are still being sought. The detainees include Pochalla South Commissioner Olul Akal Bach, Executive Director Jay Ojary, Head of Administration Ochalla Winybari, Simon Didumo, Balimi Odok and Lt. Col. Omot Ogol.

Separately, a number of other officials are said to be held at the army barrack prison in Pochalla.
