Following the recent killing of two people, peace talks in Pochalla have demanded that the victims’ killers pay blood money to surviving relatives.

Following the recent killing of two people, peace talks in Pochalla have demanded that the victims’ killers pay blood money to surviving relatives.

The fighting started when two men – Ochan Ojullo and Omot Otir – were killed during a food distribution exercise in June in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

In what appears to be a reprisal attack, a 21-year-old man coming from the Damballa area was killed in an ambush in Oboode near Pochalla County.

None of the perpetrators of any of the crimes have been identified.

The peace delegation said that if the killers didn’t turn themselves in, then the commissioners of Pochalla North and South would be held accountable.

Both commissioners denied any involvement in the recent violence.
