A peace conference among feuding communities of Kapoeta North County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria State will be convened on Wednesday, a local official said.

A peace conference among feuding communities of Kapoeta North County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria State will be convened on Wednesday, a local official said.

Simon Lado, Kapoeta North County Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj that the peace conference aims to solve conflicts between local communities in the county.

“The conference will be convened on Wednesday, we want to bring together all the communities so that they can discuss their conflicts, and then return back to peace,”said Lado.

 He pointed out that his area had witnessed security tensions due to civil strife among the locals. However, he said the security situation returned to normal these days. The local official revealed that all arrangements are in place for the peace meeting to kick off in Kapeota town on Wednesday.
