Pibor secondary students to be enrolled in Aweil West

The Northern Bahr al Ghazal State Education Ministry has accepted to enroll students from the less developed Pibor district at Marial Baai secondary school, marking new cooperation between the two regions of South Sudan.

The Northern Bahr al Ghazal State Education Ministry has accepted to enroll students from the less developed Pibor district at Marial Baai secondary school, marking new cooperation between the two regions of South Sudan.

Eleven (11) students from Pibor area have already arrived in the state capital Aweil ahead of the start of their studies at the secondary school. The program is part of a cooperation deal between the Pibor Chief Administrator David Yau Yau and the Caretaker Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal Kuel Aguer Kuel, Radio Miraya reported.

Director General for Education in the Pibor Administrative Area Charles Kutur Nyakiron thanked the government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal for giving the children the opportunity to study in Aweil.

“I am happy to be here because I am coming with the students who are sent by comrade Yau Yau in cooperation with the Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal and we appreciate the opportunity that has been given to us and our children to study here… we are sure that our children will be safe here.”

The State Minister of Education in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Valentino Achak Deng, said the students will be admitted to the Marial Baai Secondary School in Aweil West County.

“We are privileged that Northern Bahr el Ghazal is going to be a home to some of the great young minds from the greater Pibor Area and we hope to work with them, to support them to provide quality education to some of our people in the country,” said the education official.
