Sam David, spokesperson of the semi-autonomous Greater Pibor Administrative Area, has complained about poor basic services in the area.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Sam said most of the GPAA counties were witnessing deteriorating conditions in terms of education, health, and other services.

The GPAA Minister of Information also reported shortages of essential commodities due to poor roads connecting the area with Juba and nearby counties.

He pointed out that they received 2015 budget from the national government in Juba, while expecting the local authorities will start to implement development projects as soon as possible.

Sam David previously told Radio Tamazuj that the budget was too little for the area, pointing out that they had requested 680 million SSP but the approved budget was 141 million. He said the amount covers only salaries.
