Health workers in South Sudan’s capital have been responding to control the highly infectious disease cholera, which was declared as an outbreak by the health ministry last Thursday.
In a statement Sunday, UNICEF said the cholera caseload is doubling every day, providing “troubling proof that the deadly disease is spreading.”
Radio Tamazuj reported Saturday that the number of cases had risen to 56 or more. The number of fatalities is at least two. Latest figures to be provided when available.
