The state government of Upper Nile has announced the extension of network services in Maban County in the coming month.
Maban County accommodates large number of the Blue Nile refugees of Sudan at several camps, but the only commercial mobile telecommunications coverage is MTN out of Bunj.
Philip Jiben, the state minister of information and communications, minister paid a visit to Maban County to acquaint himself with the situation.
Jiben, who is also spokesman of the Upper Nile State government, confirmed that installation of the antennas of Zain network services is in progress.
The state official expected that the Zain network will cover the whole county including the camps at Doro, Yusif Batil, Jendrassa and Jamam.
“The local population and the refugees will enjoy wide coverage of Zain network soon,” he said.
