Pentecostal bishop urges government to collect firearms from Wau citizens

Bishop John Fabiano of the Pentecostal Church in Wau town has called on the government to collect illegal firearms from citizens, saying the proliferation of arms in the hands of  the citizens obstructs the peace process in the  country.

The religious leader was speaking during a prayer service organized at the Catholic Church in Wau town on Saturday.

Fabiano noted that the religious leaders are preaching peace and forgiveness in the area, while urging the government to do its parts by collecting illegal firearms from the citizens so that internal peace can be built in Wau town.

Bishop Fabiano pointed out that the proliferation of arms in the area has also displaced a large number of people from their homes. “You must collect those guns from the hands of civilians so we can enjoy peace." he said.
