Officials attending the peace talks told Radio Tamazuj this afternoon that positive amendments and improvements were made on the electoral process stipulated in the 2015 peace accord.

One of the important amendments, according one of the officials, was the conduct of elections in accordance with a permanent constitution and local government structures.

“The important inputs made for revitalization of Article 16 in Chapter 1 of the peace agreement were mostly by consensus among the South Sudanese stakeholders, “Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment for Progress said.

Separately, the Episcopal Church Bishop of Rejaf Diocese Enock Tombe called for a prayer meeting on Sunday for all South Sudanese stakeholders and other delegates at the peace talks.

The prayers seek divine intervention and peace in war-torn South Sudan.
