Communities living along the borders of South Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya are scheduled to hold a seven-day peace meeting facilitated by British organization Concordis.
Sultan Kuer Aguer, Head of the Upper Nile Pastoralists Union, told Radio Tamazuj from Juba that they intend to visit Kenya and Uganda. He said Concordis selected 22 traditional leaders from Upper Nile, Bahr el Ghazal, and Unity States to attend.
Aguer, who is also member of the peace committee in Renk County, said the initiative aims at applying lessons learned from peaceful coexistence between border communities of Sudan and South Sudan to Kenya and Uganda.
