A peace conference between the Dar Jame and Tisi tribes was convened on Monday in Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan State, according to a member of the peace committee.
Juma Jadallah, focal point of the social peace building committee, said in a press statement that the two feuding tribes agreed in principle to reach reconciliation in order to bring an end to their conflict.
He pointed out that both sides committed themselves to normalize their historic ties as they were before. Jadallah noted that the peace committee and the local authorities have been supportive of the reconciliation process. He predicted signing of a peace document between the two tribes soon.
