The South Sudan Network for Democratic Elections (SSuNDE) on Thursday organized a one-day awareness campaign disseminating the revitalized peace agreement to civil society organizations in the greater Lakes region.
SSuNDE lead facilitator Mr. Emmanuel Mading Manon told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that civil society organizations must disseminate the contents of the peace agreement to the communities.
“The importance of this revitalized peace agreements is that it gives us a chance to rest after a long journey of war, suffering, and hardships. Although there are some of the provisions which are not going well in the agreement, we still need to disseminate the R-ARCSS to our local communities in Lakes region,” he said.
Mading stressed the importance of fully implementing the peace agreement saying it will ensure peace and stability in the country.
The Executive Director of the Common Voice Africa, a local organization Kot Kuocnin Kuer said the civil society organizations face many challenges including the lack of funds to facilitate their activities, poor roads and communication network.
He further said civil society organizations are ready to carry out the dissemination of the peace agreement across the region.
The workshop drew about 30 participants from different civil society organizations based in the greater Lakes region.
