Sudanese foreign minister al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed said on Friday that the final signing of the peace agreement will take place as scheduled in Khartoum on 5 August.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in the South Sudanese capital Juba this morning, Al-Dirdiri said:” It has been confirmed. The peace agreement will be singed on 5 August around 12 pm.”
He pointed out that the signing ceremony will be attended by a number of regional leaders.
The top Sudanese diplomat noted that he visited Juba to discuss bilateral issues with his South Sudanese counterpart Nhial Deng Nhial.
He revealed that he would also meet President Salva Kiir.
