Peace conference concludes in Uror, Bieh state

A three-day peace conference, attended by representatives of government , traditional leaders, youth and women, concluded in Yuai town, the headquarters of Uror County in South Sudan’s Bieh state, on Friday evening.

A three-day peace conference, attended by representatives of government , traditional leaders, youth and women, concluded in Yuai town, the headquarters of Uror County in South Sudan’s Bieh state, on Friday evening.

The conference brought together participants from Uror and Nyirol counties of Bieh state.

Peter Mabor Bol, information minister in Bieh state, told Radio Tamazuj said the peace conference resolved to keep social peace among different communities in greater Jonglei state.

He added that they also agreed to have free movement of people and their cattle in greater Jonglei.

Mabor pointed out that the peace conference also resolved to pardon those who took up arms against the state government.

The event was supported by the state government.
