A peace and reconciliation conference attended by county commissioners, chiefs and local youth at Wangkei area in South Sudan’s Northern Liech was concluded on Thursday, a local official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Lam Tuwar Kueigwong, the Minister of Information in Northern Liech State, said the conference resolved to deploy police forces in the newly established counties to maintain security between all neighbouring communities.
Lam, who is also the government spokesman, said they peace conference also resolved to impose life imprisonment on anyone who kills or raid cattle in the area.
He pointed out that the outcomes of the peace conference at Wangkei area will be referred to Northern Liech’s legislative assembly for approval.
