A two-day peace and reconciliation conference between neighbouring states of Twic and Northern Liech was concluded in Turalei area on Friday.
The peace conference was attended by several government officials from the two states and other representatives from bordering states.
Chol Deng Alak, Head of Abyei Administrative Area, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that they also participated in the peace conference between Twic and Northern Liech states.
He pointed out that the conference was also attended by senior officials representing neighbouring Ruweng and Gogrial States. The Abyei administrator explained that the meeting resolved to stop cattle raiding, besides the importance of peaceful co-existence and formation of a joint security force between the two states.
Chol noted the two-day peace meeting was supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
