Peace conference between Fallata and Salamat in South Darfur

A three-day peace conference between the Fallata and Salamat tribes started on Saturday in Buram town in Sudan’s South Darfur State, a traditional leader said.
Fighting between the Fallata and Salamat tribes in August left dozens of people dead and wounded from the two sides.

Yusuf Al Samani, deputy nazir of the Fallata tribe, told Radio Tamazuj that the conference began on Saturday. He said the peace meeting aimed at reaching peace and stopping hostilities between the two feuding tribes in Nyala town.

Al Samani pointed out that the peace conference was under the auspices of the native administration of Al Habbaniya tribe in Buram town.
