A committee formed from the Ed Daein peace conference in Darfur to reconcile the Misseriya clans, Awlad Heiban and Awlad Surur, have announced that the process of issuing compensation for community members killed will begin in May.
The process will include both clans and is the result of a conference held in February in Ed Daein, East Darfur earlier this year to find ways to address disputes between without resorting to violence witnessed in South Kordofan at the beginning of the year.
Bishtana Mohammed Salim, the chairman of the committee said in a press statement that the committee will carried out its duties and functions of providing compensation to those affected by the conflicts next month.
Both communities have pledged to follow the resolutions of the conference, which also includes members not partaking in inter-communal violence.
Disputes between the clans led to clashes in January which resulted in the deaths of 17 people and the injury of many more in South Kordofan.
