General Paul Malong Awan, chief of General staff of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), has resumed work after a visit to his home region of Aweil, where prayer services were held.
Malong fell sick in December, 2016 and was taken to Nairobi, Kenya, where he was admitted and treated for malaria and the rise in his blood sugar level. He later returned after treatment to Juba, where he spent Christmas break before proceeding to his ancestral home village in Warawar, where he was received by the natives, supporters and local officials in the area. Prayer services and traditional rituals were held in appreciation for his recovery.
In his village, he thanked those who received him and for wishing him well
